This is HF Digital software that has been developed by SitRepNet/KN4AM, with the coding done using Claude Code AI. Credit goes to CommStat Improved for being the inspiration for these programs. Please be sure to use the Contact form to report any problems or suggestions.

Platforms – These programs are Python-based and will run on Windows and Linux, including Raspberry Pi.

JS8Reporter – This is focused on drilling down into the date with multiple reports. The map is simple, yet shows plenty of information in a very lightweight package.
• Connects to the JS8Spotter database
• Uses F505,  F104, and F309 reports to create a nation-wide map of infrastructure SitReps.

JS8Reporter

Maidenhead Grid Mapper – Similar to JS8Reporter, with a focus on the map.
• Connects directly to JS8Reporter for live updating.
• Uses USGS Topographic maps, giving a highly detailed picture of the situation.

Maidenhead Grid Mapper – Lowest zoom level – North America Overview only

Maidenhead Grid Mapper – Max zoom using only North America overview files.

Maidenhead Grid Mapper – Max zoom level using downloaded local files for detailed view.

Flag Pin Tool – Designed to efficiently process Flag Pins. These are fully customizable map pins that can be created and compiled by a group or a net, sent out via HF nets using FLAMP, then imported directly into JS8Reporter and Maidenhead Grid Mapper. Prior to Flag Pin Tool, flag pins could only be created one at a time inside JS8Reporter or MH Grid Mapper. This allows any group to compile a file that can be distributed by radio, turning each station’s map into a nation-wide SitRep status board. Flag Pin Tool makes it practical to build large pin sets quickly – including bulk import from spreadsheet or tabular data without needing either mapping program open.

Flag Pin Tool

How these work together:
• Each can freely import and export among each other.
• Each can display fully-customizable Flag pins to identify locations and situations from any source.
• Brightly colored circle highlights recently added map pins.
• Data path is JS8Call ➡ JS8Spotter ➡ JS8Reporter ➡ MHGridMapper
• Though both JS8Reporter and Maidenhead Grid Mapper can create Flag Pins, the Flag Pin Tool is designed specifically to create and process the Flag pins efficiently.
• Each has a Grid Converter tool that converts between
• • Maidenhead Grid
• • USNG – US National Grid (used by FEMA, Search and Rescue, and Emergency Response plans)
• • MGRS – Military Grid Reference System
• • Latitude, Longitude
